On Saturday July 4, we have planned a full day of activities. The day will began @ 8:00 AM in the parade forming area on the East Side at the YMCA. We have chosen as the Parade Theme this year “Salute To Volunteers”. All Volunteer organizations are encouraged to build a float, or just walk or ride & have your organization recognized. Volunteers play a key role in the success of every community. To register for the parade go to our web site at www.warrenpajuly4th.com or E-
mail Bill Thompson at email@example.com. At 10:30 AM will be the annual pre parade show at the reviewing stand located on Penna, ave. west. This very unique event features some of the top vocalists in our region singing your favorite patriotic songs.
The 68th annual 4th of July parade will begin at 11am and is sponsored by United Refining Co. Back by popular demand is The Hitmen Drum & Bugle corps. This year’s parade will feature marching bands, drill teams, dance teams, floats, color guards plus much more. Our parade has put Warren on the map as one of the best parades around.
Following the parade, all events move to Betts Park for the festival & fireworks extravaganza beginning @ 3:00 PM. The organization has been working real hard on this portion of the celebration said Post. Over the past several years people do not come to the park until 6 or 7 PM. Our goal is to provide afternoon games, food vendors, and music to draw people to the park sooner & stay thru the fireworks. In addition to food vendors, family games & contests we have booked two bands that are sure to draw a large crowd. The opening band will be the new Take 5 band that is sure to take the region by storm. The Feature band is “Rock of Ages” from New York City. Rock of Ages is a tribute band to Def Leppard, Bon Jovi & Journey.
Finally, during the day our committee is working on a Veterans Tribute. Watch for more information on this event. At 10:00 PM will be our Gigantic Fireworks Display. Back by popular demand is Gibson Fireworks Company. Some of the comments from last year were “Best Ever in Warren” Finally was awesome” “Best show I ever saw in the area”. We have added $2,000 in shells to make this show the biggest, loudest, most colorful fireworks display in the region this year. Following the fireworks will be the Grand Prize Drawing. Over 40 great prizes will be given away all donated by local merchants. The Grand Prize is $5,000.00. Those wishing to donate a prize call Polly Post 814-723-2587. If you are interested in being a vendor visit our Web Site at www.warrenpajuly4th.com or E-mail Polly Post at firstname.lastname@example.org.
